At Gabriola Family Medicine, I work in a personable, comfortable and attractive setting and will take the time to listen to your concerns. My services include diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, requisitions for laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, counselling and referrals to medical specialists.

Medical appointments at Gabriola Family Medicine are booked for 20 minutes each, which is double the time allotted in most medical offices. This gives me time to properly review your file, discuss your symptoms and plan your treatment and medications. Complete physical exams may be assigned a longer appointment.

I will always try to accommodate urgent problems on a same-day basis by reserving time in my schedule for such matters.

I appreciate your cooperation in trying to keep me on schedule:

There are many reasons why my carefully constructed appointment schedule may be disrupted, such as patients who are very sick and require more than their allotted time, or time taken for communication with other medical specialists, but I always try to do my best. I ask that you be on time for your appointment and respect the 20 minute time frame reserved for you. An additional appointment can be booked, if more time is needed.

Prescriptions and refills are provided for the length of time that is reasonable for a given health condition. Please remember when you come in to refill your prescriptions, that the appointment is for the review of all the history and underlying condition(s), not “just a prescription”. Plan ahead and book your appointment for 1-2 weeks before you run out of your medication. Please bring all of your pills to every appointment so I can properly evaluate your needs.

Test Results:

Lab work and X-ray results are usually available after 1-2 working days. You will be notified if a follow-up visit with me is required. If you are concerned about your results and have not heard from me, you may call to book a follow-up appointment.
