Gabriola Health Centre - The Centre Gallery in the Reception Area The Centre Gallery

Featuring the works of local and regional artists.

The Centre Gallery showcases a variety of artistic media and a broad range of visual imagery.

Art and healing are both rooted in the bedrock of human experience.¬†For thousands of years, art and the creative process have been intertwined with healing. Much has been learned about the benefits of art in preventing illness and generating a sense of well-being. The arts and our experience of them have the ability to change people’s perspectives, moods, and overall health.

As health care providers at Gabriola Health Centre, we recognize the power of art to discover, explore and share what is most important to us as individuals and ultimately through that process, to heal.

"At the deepest level, the creative process and the healing process arise from a single source. When you are an artist, you are a healer; a wordless trust of the same mystery is the foundation of your work and its integrity." —Rachel Naomi Remen, MD

"Art is not a part of life, it is not an addition to life. It is the essence of those pieces of us that make us fulfilled, that give us hope, that give us dreams and provide the world a with view very different than what it would have been without us." —Hasan Davis
